In green push, city set to get 100 electric buses under PM scheme

Chandigarh has been selected to receive 100 new electric buses under the ‘PM-eBus Sewa’ scheme launched by the Indian government. The scheme aims to convert conventional buses in 100 cities with populations ranging from 3 lakh to 40 lakh. The government will provide financial support of Rs 24 per km per bus, with the remaining cost to be borne by the UT administration. The new buses will be added to the fleet of the Chandigarh Transport Undertaking (CTU).
