In Kol’s Jewish schools, Muslim students sing harmony song
Two Jewish schools in Kolkata, India, are examples of harmony and acceptance, with the majority of their students being Muslim. The Jewish Girls’ School and Elias Meyer School & Talmud Torah have opened their doors to students of all faiths since the formation of Israel seven decades ago. While the Jewish community in Kolkata is now very small, the schools continue to uphold Jewish traditions while fostering a spirit of interfaith cooperation. The schools’ principals and board members emphasize the importance of peace and inclusivity in their educational institutions.
