India rejects findings of Global Hunger Index-2023

The Global Hunger Index 2023 stated that India has the highest child wasting rate in the world at 18.7%. India has rejected the report. Neighboring countries, including Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka, fared better in the index. The index showed that progress against hunger worldwide remains largely at a standstill, with the number of undernourished people increasing from 572 million to about 735 million since 2017.
