JD(S) announces alliance with BJP ahead of 2024 polls

The BJP and the Janata Dal (Secular) formally announced an alliance in Karnataka ahead of 2024 Lok Sabha elections. JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy made the announcement after meeting Amit Shah and BJP Chief J P Nadda. The JD(S) has long been a strong third player in the southern state where the Congress and the BJP have been the two main parties. The BJP chief welcomed the JD(S) into the NDA fold, stating that it will strengthen the vision of PM Modi for a “New India, Strong India”.
