JMC-H mayor suspended again, panel to probe charges

The state government of Jaipur has suspended the mayor of Jaipur Municipal Corporation Heritage, Munesh Gurjar, for her alleged involvement in a bribery case. Gurjar’s husband was caught accepting a bribe of Rs 2 lakh for issuing a land deed. After an investigation found Gurjar’s role in the case, a notice was issued to her seeking her response, which was found unsatisfactory. The state government decided to suspend Gurjar to prevent any influence on the ongoing judicial investigation. This action comes after demands from Congress councillors and a memorandum submitted to the government.
