Karnataka drops riots UAPA case, BJP says it is ‘appeasement’

The Karnataka Congress government has withdrawn a UAPA case against a mob that attacked police in Hubballi in April 2022, sparking BJP allegations of ‘politics of appeasement’. The case, initially deemed serious by courts and still before the NIA, involved a mob protesting a derogatory social media post.
