Late rain pushes back road repair deadline by 3 days

The Kolkata Municipal Corporation has extended the deadline for road repairs by three days due to rain delays. Mayor Firhad Hakim has asked the roads department to complete the work by October 17, taking advantage of a 10-day dry spell. Road repair gangs will work overnight to fix the identified damaged roads before the Durga Puja festival. The mayor has also instructed the department to operate hot-mix plants in two shifts to avoid delays. Hakim has requested daily updates and photographs of the roads before and after repair.
