Lead Ukraine volunteer units: Putin to Wagner ex-chief

Russian President Putin has appointed a top commander of the Wagner military contractor to lead “volunteer units” in Ukraine, indicating the Kremlin’s intention to continue using the mercenaries. The move comes after the death of their chief Yevgeny Prigozhin. The meeting with Putin and the commander, Andrei Troshev, suggests that the Wagner mercenaries will now serve under the defense ministry.
