Maharashtra unlikely to implement Model Tenancy Act, says state law strong

The Maharashtra government is unlikely to implement the Model Tenancy Act (MTA), which the Centre had approved last year. According to sources in the state housing development department, they have communicated to the Centre that the existing Maharashtra Rent Control Act was already protecting the rental agreements in the state.
