Man converting demonetized currency with ‘jinn’ held

A sanitation worker in Madhya Pradesh was caught with demonetized currencies worth Rs 47 lakh. The worker claimed he was on his way to meet a sorcerer who promised to convert the old notes into usable currency using a ‘jinn’ and a sacrificial ritual. The cash consisted of discontinued Rs 1,000 and Rs 500 notes. The Crime Branch is trying to identify the sorcerer. The Election Commission and income tax department were informed of the seizure.
