Mangaluru police arrest man for gold theft scam targeting elderly women

A 60-year-old man with a history of theft was arrested in Mangaluru for allegedly stealing a gold necklace from a 73-year-old woman. The accused, posing as an acquaintance, tricked the woman into handing over her necklace under the pretense of replication. Police recovered two stolen necklaces, valued at Rs 2.5 lakh, from the accused.
