MoS IT on how India is cutting Chinese dependence

India’s minister of state for electronics and information technology, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, clarified that there are no plans to introduce a licensing regime on the import of IT hardware. Instead, the government aims to regulate inbound shipments through an import management system to reduce India’s dependence on imports, particularly from China. The minister highlighted the need for a trusted and resilient supply chain and encouraged companies to use domestic manufacturing capabilities.
