The genome sequencing of Nipah virus samples from the current outbreak in Kerala showed no genetic mutations compared to previous outbreaks. The samples were 99.7% similar to previous viruses, with some tests showing 100% similarity. No new cases were reported for the fourth consecutive day, and 281 people have completed their isolation period. Samples from bats near the epicenter tested negative, and further testing is ongoing. The condition of the patients is stable, and surveillance efforts continue. It is advised that contacts of Nipah patients remain in isolation for 21 days, regardless of negative test results. Restrictions in containment zones will continue.
