No nod to Metro for traffic diversion via forest area
The Ridge Management Board in New Delhi has approved five development projects that will result in the felling or transplanting of 93 trees. The board has deferred a project by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to divert traffic through a forest, stating that a field visit is required. The approved projects include the construction of a laboratory complex, an administration block, a medical sciences institute, an office building, and an approach road. The central empowered committee of the Supreme Court will make the final decision on these projects.
