North Dakota lawmaker killed in Utah plane crash had recently earned commercial pilot’s license

North Dakota state Senator Doug Larsen, his wife, and two sons were killed in a plane crash in Utah. Larsen, a licensed pilot, was flying his single-engine Piper Cherokee home from a family celebration in Arizona when the crash occurred.
