Not looking to escalate situation, says Trudeau as India asks Canada to recall diplomats

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau stated that Canada does not intend to escalate tensions with India and will continue to engage responsibly. This comes after India asked Canada to repatriate over 40 of its diplomats. Relations between the two countries have deteriorated following Trudeau’s allegations that Indian agents were involved in the killing of a Khalistani separatist leader.
