NSS’s Pick A Buddy will be a boon for ailing & aged

The social justice department in Kerala plans to utilize National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers to provide care for the elderly. Under the proposed Pick a Buddy project, NSS volunteers will be trained to support the elderly in various ways, such as providing medical help and companionship. Incentives such as grace marks and activity points will be given to volunteers in examinations. The program aims to address the needs of the growing elderly population in the state. The volunteers will be trained to conduct health check-ups, provide counseling, and assist with online bill payments.
