Over 50,000 weddings likely in Rajasthan on polling day

The upcoming polling day in Rajasthan coincides with Dev Uthani Ekadashi, a popular wedding day in the state. More than 50,000 weddings are expected to take place on this day, which some believe may affect the voter turnout. The state’s chief electoral officer, Praveen Gupta, acknowledged the issue and stated that political parties are addressing it. However, former state BJP chief Satish Poonia expressed confidence that the party workers would ensure high voter participation. The election department has set a target of 75% voter turnout in the state.
