Pakistan to hold polls in January 2024

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has announced that the general election, which was originally due in November, will now take place in the last week of January next year. The delay is due to the fresh marking of constituencies, with a preliminary list of delimitations to be published on September 27. The ECP stated that the election process will take 54 days, including filing nomination papers, appeals, and campaigning.
