Patna auto fares fixed, minimum Rs 10 from bus terminal to Sampatchak

The district administration in Patna has fixed fares for auto rickshaws in an effort to control overcharging by drivers. The fares, which have been sent for approval, are based on distance and the number of passengers. For example, a shared auto rickshaw ride from Patna’s Patliputra bus terminal to Sampatchak will cost Rs 10, while a reserved auto rickshaw will cost Rs 120. The administration has also set limits on the number of passengers allowed in each type of auto rickshaw. Violators will be fined.
