PM Modi reviews rollout of welfare schemes promised on Independence Day

Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a meeting to review the implementation of various announcements made during his Independence Day speech. The review included the proposal for an interest subsidy scheme for home loans for the poor and middle-class in urban areas. The PM also reviewed preparations for ensuring solar power for households. The scheme, which may benefit around 25 lakh new homebuyers, will be placed before the Cabinet for approval in the next couple of weeks.
