Panaji, the capital of Goa, experienced heavy rainfall with the rain gauge station recording 92.8mm of rain in a single day. This was part of a two-day wet spell that caused waterlogging in the city. From June 1 to September 22, the rain gauge station has accumulated a total of 2,955.6mm of rainfall. The recent surge in rainfall can be attributed to the presence of cumulonimbus clouds, which contribute to thunderstorms and heavy rainfall. Cloud distribution and types are closely monitored by the Doppler weather radar in Panaji for advanced weather predictions.
