Pune businessman loses Rs 18 lakh to drug parcel fraud

A 61-year-old businessman in Pune lost Rs 18 lakh to conmen in a drug parcel fraud. This is the 20th case reported in the area this year, with none being solved so far. The victim received a call from someone claiming to be from a global courier firm, who said a parcel containing drugs and other items had been found with his name. Another person claiming to be a police officer then asked the victim to transfer money for verification. The suspects stopped communicating after the transfer was made. The police are investigating the case.
