Ranjith resigns as Kerala Chalachitra Academy Chairman following allegations of harassment

Filmmaker Ranjith resigned as chairman of Kerala Chalachitra Academy following harassment allegations by Bengali actor Sreelekha Mitra. Mitra claimed Ranjith misbehaved with her during the making of ‘Paleri Manikyam’ in 2009. Ranjith denied the accusations but stepped down to prevent damage to the Left government’s reputation, stating his intention to fight the charges legally.
