Rare autoimmune disease leaves young man paralyzed after Bali vacation
A 23-year-old real estate agent named Tom Pegg contracted a rare autoimmune disease while on vacation in Bali. The disease, Guillain-Barre Syndrome, caused his eyes to swell shut and made it difficult for him to breathe and speak. Pegg was diagnosed and placed in an induced coma for five days.
