Recommend central OBC status for Veerashaiva-Lingayats, CM advised

Supporters of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah have advised him to address the demand of granting central OBC status to all sub-sects of the Veerashaiva-Lingayat community in order to counter the impact of Lingayat veteran Shamanur Shivashankarappa’s criticism. However, the move may face opposition from OBCs who traditionally support Siddaramaiah. The Chief Minister will have to find a balance in his decision-making.
