OTT has acquired Richard Linklater’s “Hit Man” for USD 20 million. The film, starring Glen Powell, is a comic take on the hit-man genre and was a breakout hit at the Toronto International Film Festival. It is loosely based on a true story about a psychology professor who works undercover as a hit man for the police. Linklater and Powell decided to make the film before selling it to a distributor to avoid the pitfalls of modern Hollywood. The sale of “Hit Man” is the largest of the fall-festival season.
