RoundGlass Punjab FC ropes in Greek manager Staikos Vergetis as new coach

Having changed two coaches in the previous season of the I-League, RoundGlass Punjab FC on Monday named Greece’s Staikos Vergetis as the new head coach ahead of the forthcoming 2022-23 season of the tournament. The 46-year-old Vergetis has nearly a decade’s experience working as a head coach at the senior level in his home country as well as Cyprus. He will take over the reins of the Punjab-based franchise from Dutchman Ed Engelkes, who replaced England’s Ashley Westwood, midway into the 2021-22 season after a string of below-par performances.
