Rs 2 crore recovered from Chaitra, Swamy and their friends: Top cop

The Bengaluru police have recovered approximately Rs 2 crore in cash, jewelry, and vehicles from right-wing activist Chaitra Kundapur, pontiff Abhinava Halashree Swamy, and their associates. They have been arrested for allegedly duping businessman Govind Babu Pujari of Rs 5 crore by promising him a BJP ticket in the last assembly elections. The police commissioner stated that the investigation is progressing well, and they have arrested eight individuals so far. Additionally, Rs 56 lakh in cash, handed over to a mutt by an individual, has been seized. An advocate has also written to the Enforcement Directorate, seeking a case against Pujari under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
