Rs 2,650cr of Rs 2K notes exchanged, deposited at 3 TN-based banks

Three commercial banks in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry have recorded deposits and exchanges of 2,000 rupee notes amounting to 2,650 crore in the past five months. The deposits exceeded exchanges, with 96% of the 2,000 rupee notes returned across India. The Reserve Bank of India has extended the deadline for depositing and exchanging the withdrawn notes until October 7, after which the process will be stopped.
