School jobs case: ED quizzes Rujira for 8 hrs

The Enforcement Directorate questioned Rujira Banerjee, wife of Trinamool Congress general secretary Abhishek Banerjee, for over eight hours in connection with the primary teacher recruitment case. Banerjee, a former director of Leaps & Bounds Pvt Ltd, had sought protection from the Calcutta High Court, claiming that media leaks during the investigation were affecting her right to privacy. The agency asked her about her role in the company and inquired about her contact with the company’s chief operating officer, Sujay Krishna Bhadra. Banerjee was allowed to leave after her recorded statement was discussed with officials in New Delhi.
