Scripts of the past no readers at present

As they stare at the 1. 78 lakh palm leaf manuscripts lining their shelves, officials of the Hindu religious & charitable endowments (HR&CE) department know they have a monumental task ahead of them. While the number of ancient documents is huge, the number of experts in Tamil Nadu who can read them is abysmal.
