Season’s coldest night; AQI falls to ‘very poor’
The air quality in Delhi has reached the “very poor” category with an AQI of 304 due to calm wind conditions, low temperatures, and a low mixing layer height. The city recorded its coldest night of the season with a minimum temperature of 14.3°C. Satellite data shows an increase in farm fires in north-west India. Jahangirpuri was the most polluted station in the city with an AQI of 409. Measures under Stage II of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) are already in place. The air quality is expected to remain “very poor” till October 31.
