Sensex, Nifty decline as Israel-Hamas conflict spooks investors

Indian shares declined on Monday due to a surge in oil prices caused by a military conflict in the Middle East and concerns over higher US interest rates. The Nifty 50 index closed 0.72% lower, while the Sensex fell 0.73%. All major sectoral indexes recorded losses, with banks and oil & gas sectors experiencing over 1% declines.
