Slovakia’s president, Zuzana Caputova, has rejected a plan by the caretaker government to provide further military aid to Ukraine. The president’s office stated that the current government has limited powers since losing a confidence vote in parliament. Caputova has asked the leader of the winning party in the recent election to form a coalition government, which could further strain the unity of the EU and NATO. While Caputova remains a supporter of Ukraine, she believes that approving military aid during a transitional government would set a risky precedent.
