State to publish OBC survey report soon

The Odisha government is planning to publish a survey report on backward classes soon. The Odisha State Commission for Backward Classes (OSCBC) conducted the survey between May and July this year and recently submitted its report to the government. The survey found that 42% of the state’s population belonged to 208 backward classes. The government is analyzing the data and intends to properly enumerate and extend benefits to the OBCs. The opposition parties have questioned the delay and method of the survey.
