Strong quake in west Afghanistan kills ‘about 120’

At least 120 people have died and around 1,000 have been injured in a magnitude 6.3 earthquake in western Afghanistan. The epicenter of the quake was 40 kilometers northwest of Herat, the region’s largest city. The disaster relief authorities have warned that the death toll is expected to rise significantly.
