Supreme Court nixes its verdict quashing parts of benami property law

The Supreme Court recalled its August 2022 judgment that struck down key provisions of the Prohibition of Benami Property Transactions Act, 1988, after the Union government argued that the court had ruled on the provisions’ validity without any party challenging them. The appeal against the HC order was restored.
