Swaminathan, father of India’s green revolution, passes away

Renowned agricultural scientist MS Swaminathan, known as the father of India’s Green Revolution, has passed away at the age of 98. He founded the MS Swaminathan Research Foundation and played a vital role in developing high-yield variety seeds of wheat, which led to the green revolution in India. Swaminathan held administrative positions in various agricultural research laboratories and received numerous awards for his contributions in the field.
