Tata Motors has been awarded 766 crore in compensation by an arbitral tribunal in connection with losses incurred on its manufacturing site in Singur, West Bengal. The company was forced to shift its operations to Gujarat due to opposition from farmers backed by Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress.
