Truckers’ body seeks removal of ‘illegal’ check posts

The All India Motor Transport Congress (AIMTC) has urged the Indian government to eliminate “illegal” check posts at state borders in 13 states. The AIMTC alleges corruption and exploitation at these check posts, which is harming the transport trade and truckers. They argue that these check posts go against the principles of the goods and services tax (GST) law and that online technologies can provide the necessary document verification.
