Two prisoners playing ‘vaanar’ in Ram Leela escape jail in ‘search’ of Sita

Two inmates, Pankaj and Rajkumar, escaped from Haridwar’s Roshanabad jail during a Ram Leela performance, where they played the roles of ‘Vaanar’. They used a ladder to jump over the boundary wall. Their absence was noticed around 8 pm. The pair were jailed for murder and kidnapping. This event has raised concerns over jail security.
