Untreated effluent from STP polluting Ganga near its source

A report presented to the National Green Tribunal revealed that untreated sewage from a treatment plant is polluting the Ganga River near its source. The report, based on Uttarakhand government findings, showed high levels of fecal coliform bacteria in water samples. The NGT has ordered the state’s chief secretary to address the issue and submit a detailed report.
