US gives Ukraine more than 1 million rounds of Iranian ammo seized at sea

The United States has sent over 1.1 million rounds of rifle ammunition seized from Iran to the Ukrainian armed forces. The ammunition was originally headed to Houthi rebels in Yemen but was intercepted by the US in December 2022. The US government gained ownership of the ammunition through civil forfeiture claims against Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
