US, Nepalese climbers killed by avalanche on Shishapangma in Tibet

An avalanche on the Tibetan peak of Shishapangma has resulted in the deaths of an American and Nepalese climber, with two others still missing. Shishapangma is the world’s 14th tallest peak and is considered one of the easier mountains of its height. The scale of the avalanche and its impact on other climbers in the area is still unknown.
