UT: No temporary regn numbers for fuel bikes

The UT administration of Chandigarh has instructed auto dealers to stop issuing temporary registration numbers for non-electric motorcycles and scooters, following the halt in their registration until March 31, 2024. The administration’s EV Policy set a target of registering 12,076 fuel-based two-wheelers for the financial year, which has already been achieved. Furthermore, the administration will allow auto dealers to sell petrol and diesel vehicles to out-of-state buyers by issuing temporary numbers using the RTO code of the specific state or city, rather than Chandigarh.
