Wayanad bypoll: Congress ally CPI to field candidate against Priyanka

The Communist Party of India (CPI) will field Sathyan Mokeri against Priyanka Gandhi Vadra in the Wayanad Lok Sabha bypolls on November 13. The seat was vacated by Rahul Gandhi, who retained the Rae Bareli seat. Priyanka Gandhi’s candidacy marks her poll debut. ​​​​The seat was vacated after Rahul Gandhi, leader of the opposition in Lok Sabha, chose to retain the Rae Bareli seat in Uttar Pradesh Lok Sabha victory.
