Why Ex-Pak PM Imran could now face death penalty
Ex-Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan has been indicted on charges of revealing official secrets, adding to the legal battles he has been facing since being ousted from power. The charge carries a possible death sentence and could prevent him from running in parliamentary elections in January. Khan and his aide Shah Mahmood Qureshi will go on trial this week. The case relates to Khan’s speech and waving of a confidential diplomatic letter at a rally, where he claimed he was ousted as part of a US conspiracy. Khan is currently facing over 150 cases, including corruption charges.
