Meitner, a contemporary of Nobel laureates like Albert Einstein and Niels Bohr, was overlooked when Hahn won the Nobel Prize for nuclear fission. Marissa Moss, the author of a book about Meitner, believes the snub may have been due to her gender and Jewish heritage.
