1200+ tourists rescued by Army in Sikkim
Indian Army evacuates 1,217 stranded tourists in eastern Sikkim in a coordinated effort. Evacuation operation ensures safety and well-being of stranded individuals, including elderly, women, and children. Civil administration officials facilitate return of tourists from various locations in Sikkim to Gangtok. Trishakti Corps conducts rescue mission, relocating tourists to safer zones and providing essential amenities. The soldiers vacated their barracks to enable accommodation of the stranded tourists, the army informed through its release. The army also remains proactive in providing assistance to tourists and the Sikkim-Touristcal population, it added.
